Atmosphere and More
You can't tell me that as a child you didn't want to experience Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Toothsome is the best place to have this experience.
The outside looks like a big quirky factory. You won't be able to miss it. The second you see it you'll know exactly what it is.
Walking in you might be a little overwhelmed because of all the sweets you want to try. There's everything from cinnamon candies to very delicately decorated cupcakes. And that's only the gift shop. This doesn't even include the dinner and desserts.
The wait time was a bit long but that's to be expected considering it is a very popular attraction. If you notice a lot of people waiting , don't give up. Put your name on the list and find something else to do while you wait. You can look through the gift shop or explore the city walk. Don't leave if you haven't been there before. This is something you need to experience at least once in your life.
Once you are called to come in, they will have you wait at the entrance of the dining room. This wait won't be too long. The point of this wait is for them to clean your table and for you to wait for a host to escort you to your table. While you wait you will be able to watch their dessert chefs (if that's what they are even called) make decadent milkshakes. They are absolutely outrageous and beautiful.
As you walk into the dining area you will immediately notice the decor. It has an industrial steampunk vibe with a modern twist. There are TV screens with cool graphics going. There's an upstairs and a main eating area. They are architecturally exquisite. You have to, have to, have to see it for yourself.
The "owners" may come by and have a conversation with your table. The "owners" are Professor Dr. Penelope Toothsome and her partner Jaques. Here is a fun fact about him, he is a bit robot-like. You definitely have to see him. This is also a very fun experience for younger kids.
Food (Meals)
The food was very good. I had fettuccine Alfredo. The sauce was creamy and the chicken was cooked well. Everything it should've been and was expected. The portions are very large, as expected with a restaurant of this magnitude. There is almost a small chance that you will be able to finish it.
Desserts
This is the main event at Toothsome. They offer extravagant milkshakes, crazy sundaes, and much more. In this article I will be focusing on milkshakes and sundaes. There are eleven different types of milkshakes and eight choices for sundaes. We purchased the brownie and red velvet milkshakes.
We will start with the red velvet shake. This is really like two desserts in one. I say this because it is a milkshake with a full red velvet cupcake on top! When I say extravagant, this is what I mean. It is larger than life. It comes in a plastic take-home jar with the restaurant logo on the front. On top there is a red velvet cupcake that is frosted with care. Whipped cream and sprinkles on the sides! The actual milkshake portion is what i believe to be vanilla blended with red velvet cake. On the inside of the cup it is drizzled with red syrup. It was good.
The milkshake was rich and I didn't overly love the taste but it was good. I might try something else other than this. In fact my younger sisters didn't love it.
Next we are going to go onto the brownie milkshake. This was almost like the red velvet milkshake. There was a whole large brownie on top and chocolate drizzled on the inside of the cup. This one was better than the red velvet. It is still rich and full of flavor. It is a bit more simple than the other.
Last but not least, the "may contain nuts" sundae. This consisted of almost anything peanut butter flavored. It's got peanut butter ice cream, Reese's peanut butter cups, Reese's pieces, peanut brittle, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream, and a whole slice of peanut butter pie. Talk about peanut butter, am I right?
As you can imagine people with peanut allergies might want to skip on this one. *wink wink* Overall this was delicious! I love peanut butter and this was practically my own personal heaven. It was rich and, well, peanut buttery . This sundae was huge. Definitely shareable with the whole family.
In conclusion, Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen is one heck of an experience that you need to get in on. You need to get a dessert. You can get food but you absolutely need to save room for dessert. If you don't I will find you and force you to drink a milkshake.
Prices can range from $3.95 - $46.95. Don't let the $46.95 items scare you. There are only two items that have that cost. Majority of their items go from $12 to $19. So DO NOT be alarmed about prices.
