Best Study Tips That will Help Pass a Permit Test

Most teens dream of getting their license, but nobody dreams of taking their permit test. Here are 6 tips to passing your permit test and making the process run smooth!

1. Highlight What You Think is Important- highlighting info helps you feel less overwhelmed by the thickness of the book. It makes it easier to find that more important information faster.

2. Annotate- Annotating is when you make small comments off to the side of your material to make sure you're understanding what you're reading. Annotating is scientifically proven to help with memorization and comprehension. So in less words, make comments off to the side of important info marking it as something you should remember.

3. Take Online Tests- Take online practice tests, it will give you a feel for what will be on the actual test.

4. DMV Genie- This is an app that was very helpful! It gives practice tests from every state. I would consider this to be the Quizlet of permit test. This app is free.

5. Have all Proper Materials- Make sure you have all papers. Make a checklist of everything you need. I know many people who were ready to take the test but couldn't because they didn't have the right papers.

6. Go at the perfect time- The DMV is always busy. I've noticed that the best time to go is about half an hour to 45 minutes before it closes. The morning will always be most busy because people are trying to fit it in before work. If you go at my suggested time your wait time should only be about 5 minutes, if you go in the morning you can expect at least an hour wait with 200 people trying to also get what they need done.
